Family owned and veteran owned, serving South Orange County since 1990. Three generations of roofing experience, one straight answer every time.
Gotcha Covered Roofing Company has worked on South Orange County roofs since 1990. It started with Robert Sr.'s father, passed to Robert Sr., an Army Airborne Infantry veteran who served during Vietnam, and now runs with his son Robert Jr. involved day to day. Three generations of roofing knowledge going into a fourth, all of it specific to South OC tile, shingle, and flat roofs. The approach hasn't changed since 1990: tell homeowners the truth about what their roof needs, and never push work that isn't necessary.

Real Roofers. Real Experience.
Three generations of roofing experience
Licensed, bonded, and insured
Three generations of South OC roofing knowledge. Clay, concrete, ceramic, and Spanish tile behave differently than they do inland, and coastal salt air changes what actually needs attention. This crew has worked the same tile roofs in this area since 1990.
A straight answer, not a sales pitch. If a roof doesn't need work, Gotcha Covered will say so and leave. That's the same reputation carried since the business started, not a new marketing angle.
Family owned and veteran owned. Robert Sr. served in the Army's Airborne Infantry during Vietnam before building this company with his father's trade. That standard didn't change when he built the business, and it hasn't changed since.
Direct access to the owner. Calls and texts go to Robert Jr. directly, not a dispatch center or a call queue.
Licensed and specialized, not a general contractor moonlighting in roofing. California requires roofing contractors to hold a C-39 license through the Contractors State License Board, and homeowners can verify any contractor's status before hiring.

Clay, concrete, ceramic, Spanish, and slate tile all age differently, and a cracked tile doesn't always mean the roof is failing. Gotcha Covered diagnoses whether the issue is a broken tile, worn underlayment, or a flashing failure before recommending repair or replacement. The Tile Roofing Institute publishes installation and maintenance standards specific to the tile types common in Southern California.
A leak rarely shows up where the water actually enters. Tile, valley, flashing, and skylight penetrations are the most common failure points on South OC roofs, and finding the real source before patching prevents a repeat call six months later.
Skylights are one of the most common leak points on any roof. Gotcha Covered installs new skylights and repairs failed seals and flashing on existing ones. The National Roofing Contractors Association recommends professional inspection of all roof penetrations, skylights included, during any leak investigation.
Built-up (hot tar), torch down, and elastomeric coating systems are common on additions, patios, and older South OC flat-roof sections. Gotcha Covered services and replaces all three.
Composition shingle, tile, and wood shake roofs each reach end of life differently. Gotcha Covered walks homeowners through what's actually driving a replacement recommendation, whether that's age, storm damage, or underlayment failure, rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.
Gotcha Covered also works with South OC commercial property owners and HOAs on flat, tile, and shingle roof maintenance and replacement.

Cost depends on whether the issue is a few broken tiles, failed underlayment beneath intact tile, or flashing damage. A broken tile swap is far less expensive than an underlayment replacement, which is why Gotcha Covered inspects before quoting rather than pricing off a phone description.
Isolated leaks, a handful of broken tiles, or damaged flashing usually point to repair. Widespread underlayment failure, a roof at or past its expected lifespan, or repeated leaks in different areas usually point to replacement. Gotcha Covered gives a straight answer either way, and won't recommend replacement if repair will genuinely hold.
Yes. Clay, concrete, ceramic, and Spanish tile are all handled as distinct roof types, not treated the same way, since each has different underlayment lifespans and repair methods.
Most residential tile or shingle replacements in South Orange County take a few days to a week, depending on roof size, tile availability, and weather. Flat roof sections typically take less time.
